I am running really late for the Feb posting, however, I have a tune that is in the theme of St. Valentine’s day. This is one I wrote and recently recorded “open air” from a recorder sitting on the top of my desk. The guitar is a cheap 50′s student Gibson acoustic that Ray Sparks setup for me with a custom wood bridge in place of the old plastic one that came on the original. The wood bridge really brings out the sound of the little guitar and makes it a usable instrument. It even sounds decent on this recording despite the two year old corroded strings! I hope you enjoy it.

OK …. January is almost over and there is yet to be a post on the site. So, here is an open air/scratch recording from 2005 of a song I wrote in the same year. I would love for the bluegrass/Americana quartet I’m in (Gipson and Fitz) to record it sometime. Until then, I hope you enjoy the raw tune as is. Thanks for dropping by and giving it a listen.

So you have to start somewhere and here it is. This site is a place where random recordings and song ideas (rehearsed or unfinished) will all be welcome. I hope to post at least one song a month here for your listening pleasure. I plan to include songs that are dear to me, songs that are half finished, or maybe just some random recordings in which I have been involved. The key here is to post content without striving for perfection. If you know me, you will know that will be a difficult endeavor.

I hope to share music made with old friends, new friends, and possibly some made in isolation. Regardless of what content finds its way to this place, I appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to read this, and hope you enjoy the music and commentary. Feel free to post your thoughts on the tunes and let me know if you like (or dislike) the sound of something. Also, if you hear something that screams of collaboration and you have an idea, please drop me a line. Cheers and Enjoy!
